ChatMeld is an application developed by DigiMeld UG (haftungsbeschränkt). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.
ChatMeld is designed as a privacy-focused messaging platform. The application does not require user registration and does not collect personal data such as names or email addresses.
To enable message delivery and system functionality, ChatMeld may process limited technical data, including:
– push notification tokens
– temporary connection and usage logs
To provide location-based chat functionality, ChatMeld may access the device's precise location when the app is in use.
This location data is used solely to determine nearby chats and relevant content within a selected radius.
For processing, location data may be transmitted to internal infrastructure services (e.g., GeoMeld), which is a product of the Meld® ecosystem developed by DigiMeld UG, where it is transformed using salted hashing techniques and used to build location-based matching structures.
Raw location data is not shared with other users and is not stored beyond what is necessary for real-time functionality.
ChatMeld remains usable without Location Services enabled. When Location Services are disabled, only nearby chat discovery and nearby chat creation are unavailable.
Messages are processed solely for the purpose of enabling communication within chats.
ChatMeld may send push notifications to inform users about new messages or relevant events. Notification delivery is handled via platform services (e.g., Apple Push Notification Service or Firebase Cloud Messaging).
ChatMeld does not sell or share personal data with third parties.
Message content is stored temporarily and is automatically deleted after a defined period (TTL) set by the system or chat configuration.
Technical logs (including connection-related data) are stored only for a limited time and are automatically deleted after a short retention period (typically a few days).
In certain cases (e.g., abuse prevention or security investigations), IP addresses may be temporarily stored. Such data is retained only as long as necessary and is deleted after the issue is resolved.
Crash diagnostics and stability data may be collected via Firebase Crashlytics or similar services to improve app reliability. This data does not include message content.
Users can control notification settings via their device.
Since ChatMeld does not use accounts, there is no personal profile or persistent personal data stored by default.
ChatMeld does not require user accounts.
All message data and technical data are automatically deleted according to system-defined retention policies (TTL). As a result, there is no persistent personal account data that requires manual deletion.
